The T-T-T 3000 team has set itself the goal of optimizing the performance of athletes with virtual games. With the help of special tracking techniques and augmented reality, a technical framework is to be created that improves athletic performance with the advantages of virtual entertainment.
Like human life, sport has evolved over the years. The benefits of science and technology have changed the way we understand sport. Information can now be better collected and analysed, new and effective learning methods developed, and training methods personalised. Athletes use technology to train individually and achieve better results in their competitions
T-T-T stands for "Table Tennis Trainer" and embodies this concept. With the help of user software and sensor equipment, our system analyses the movements of the player and the ball during a table tennis game. The analysis of these movements is used as input for various games, which can be projected onto the table tennis tables by means of a projector. The athletes are challenged with varied game variations, all based on traditional table tennis rules. While the different game variations bring variety and fun, the athletes train their athletic skills at the same time. The performance data is further analysed and stored so that the players can follow their performance afterwards via detailed statistics.
