The first product of BlueMethano GmbH was developed from a concrete and simple question of the then still young biogas research: How much does a small experimental biogas reactor actually produce at what time? Although measuring methods were already available, the gas quantities produced had to be collected in a time-consuming and costly manner and read off by hand. Biogas measurement can be described as the "supreme discipline" of gas measurement: a wide variety of gas compositions, many aggressive gases, anaerobic conditions (i.e. 100% air seal) are mandatory. After several years of development and testing, a patented device in combination with attractive software can now greatly facilitate the investigations.
 
The actual measuring device is a siphon (U-tube), which builds up almost no back pressure during the measurement. Even the smallest amounts of gas can thus be measured without loss. All researchers and practitioners who study gas-forming microorganisms derive great added value from this technology.
 
The shareholders of BlueMethano GmbH can look back on many years of experience in the field of research and also assist their customers in the planning and implementation of research projects. Core competence is the evaluation of technical feasibility and its realization. For this purpose, known techniques can be used or - as in the field of biogas research - completely new instruments can be developed and patented together with the scientists.
