Platoniq newly joined Incubator Mitte: Focusing on Relationship Health

Welcome to Incubator Mitte!

As part of the Science & Startups team from the HU Cluster “Social & Sustainability,” Platoniq can now also be found at Luisenstraße. The founders—Lara Sachs, Daniel Stachnik, and Silvan Hornstein, PhD—address relationship health and loneliness with their startup and its app, platoniq.health. The app specifically strengthens social skills, changes obstructive thought patterns, and facilitates social connections—all based on insights from psychological research.

Relationship health and loneliness are underestimated and complex challenges in our society. Currently, there is increasing talk of a “loneliness epidemic,” which affects all age groups, including young people—despite expectations of a thriving social life at that stage. A 2024 study by the Bertelsmann Foundation found that 46% of young adults in Germany experience moderate to severe feelings of loneliness.

However, digital health applications addressing this problem are still lacking. Platoniq aims to fill this gap and support people in maintaining a happy and healthy life. Founder Silvan was even recognized for this project in the Berlin University Alliance’s ideas competition, winning in the category “Social Cohesion.”
