At an opening event attended by 100 guests – including Volker Hofmann and HU founders such as Marcus Hott from the AI startup Noah Labs – the new Berlin AI Hub was officially inaugurated. Berlin’s Senator for Economic Affairs, Franziska Giffey, and Dr. Stefan Franzke, CEO of Berlin Partner, gave the official launch signal. The initiative is being implemented by Berlin Partner for Business and Technology with support from the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. That same evening, a second opening celebration took place at the CIC technology campus.

With the #ai_berlin hub, Berlin now has a central point of contact for everyone who uses artificial intelligence in their work and wishes to exchange ideas and collaborate with like-minded people. The goal is to build a future-oriented structure that strengthens Berlin’s AI ecosystem in the long term and positions it on the global stage. In doing so, Berlin aims to become Europe’s number one AI hub.

The fact that #ai_berlin is located on the innovation and startup campus CIC Berlin is a major advantage – innovation is already happening there. Financially, the hub is also well positioned: for 2025, it has a budget of €725,000 provided by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. Networking opportunities with AI application areas across Berlin are ensured through the Berlin Partner network. The foundation has been laid.
