Starter Accounts

Newly appointed professors at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin have the opportunity to receive a starter account from Humboldt-Innovation GmbH. This account comes with initial funding of €2,000 and can be used to initiate and acquire new projects through Humboldt-Innovation or to create a project-related online presence - especially in the areas of contract research and continuing academic education.

Examples of how the funds can be used:

• Participation in professional events – including hotel accommodation and daily allowances – for presenting your technologies and research, as well as for initiating new projects.
• Costs for organizing your own events at HU Berlin – to enable targeted networking with relevant stakeholders.
• Procurement of necessary equipment – provided these cannot be financed through public funding or regular university budgets.
• Professional marketing materials – e.g., websites or promotional videos to increase visibility among business and societal partners.
• Personnel funding – for acquiring contract research projects, developing continuing education programs, and initiating new cooperation projects with companies.
