Our biodiversity is under threat, and preserving it requires in-depth knowledge. Participants can acquire this expertise through the Field Botany Species Identification Course (BANU Bronze), offered by the HUmwelt-Akademie at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

At the Späth-Arboretum and across various field sites in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, participants will deepen their botanical skills. They will learn to reliably identify native wild plants and understand the vital ecological relationships between plants, animals, and habitats for the design and maintenance of near-natural outdoor spaces.

As such, the course is particularly valuable for employees of companies looking to expand their professional profile in sustainable landscaping or sharpen their services to include biodiversity-enhancing practices.

The course is designed for professionals in gardening and landscaping, individuals with at least basic botanical knowledge, stakeholders in nature conservation, associations and public authorities, consultancy and planning firms, or students in fields such as Biology, Agroecology, and Teacher Training.

Registration is available until April 8, 2026, as the course begins on April 15.

Course Fee: 800 Euro (including examination)
