The Department of Deaf Studies and Sign Language Interpreting at Humboldt University of Berlin offers a language certification programme in German Sign Language.
The DGS language certificate indicates your current level of proficiency in the language. You can use the language certificate to demonstrate your DGS proficiency, for example, when applying for roles such as a teacher at schools with deaf pupils, as an interpreter for German Sign Language and German, or as a counsellor for deaf people, or when starting a career in the deaf community. You can also use the DGS language certificate for self-reflection and to improve your own sign language skills.
