The event series "Science Meets Business", organized by Humboldt-Innovation and the Servicezentrum Forschung at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, offers researchers from the university and representatives from companies and the public sector a platform for a topic-specific exchange on applied research. The aim is to initiate joint projects.
The presentation of current research results, the presentation of existing development issues and the in-depth discussions among each other help the participants to develop ideas for possible collaborations and thus to use existing innovation potentials.
On April 28, 2021, the spotlight will be on translational bioinformatics.
Translational bioinformatics is a young discipline that aims to rapidly develop methods from bioinformatics, medical informatics and statistical genetics into innovative clinical and preclinical applications. Thus, translational bioinformatics is inherently applied research that harnesses basic research results to improve human health. With advances in medical technology in the measurement of molecular processes in the body combined with advances in bioinformatics in the analysis of very large molecular datasets, this field offers great potential for novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in medicine.
