International collaboration

Training for international specialists and managers

We are convinced that sustainable development is a global responsibility. That is why we train specialists from all over the world. By bringing together different cultural backgrounds and different professional groups, SLE TRAINING promotes an intercultural and interdisciplinary approach. We see learning from each other as an important prerequisite for successful collaboration, on which sustainable and inclusive transformation is based. Our curriculum draws on the expertise of SLE and is geared towards the needs of our partner organizations.

SLE has been active in international cooperation (IC) for sustainable development for over 60 years. The offer includes postgraduate studies, advanced training courses for international experts and managers, application-oriented research and consulting for development organizations and universities. Through its affiliation with the Humboldt University of Berlin, SLE guarantees academically sound concepts and methods, empirically sound analyses and practical instruments and consultancy products.

Training philosophy

The practice-oriented training courses are based on experience-based learning: "Learning by doing for impact" is the most important aspect of SLE's training philosophy. Participants come from all over the world: they include employees from development agencies, national and international non-governmental organizations, public institutions, universities as well as specialists and managers from the private sector. This unique mix of different cultural and professional backgrounds enables a transdisciplinary exchange of experience in an intercultural learning environment. As the training courses are held in English, participants should have a good command of English.
