Thematic programs
Programs with a thematic focus support researchers, innovators and start-ups in specific specialist areas such as AI or quantum technology. The programs provide support, for example, by enabling access to premises, networks, partners, financial resources or advice. In this way, innovations are driven forward in Berlin. The following programs are initiated by Science & Startups.
K.I.E.Z. - Artificial Intelligence Center

China Competence Training Center
The China Competence Training Center (CCTC) was established in 2023 by Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin as associated partners, with funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), and as part of the Guideline to Promote the Regional Expansion of China Competence in Science (Regio-China). It offers a training program to employees in the fields of knowledge and technology transfer, and international affairs, specifically tailored to their needs, enabling them to realistically assess the opportunities and risks of (research) cooperation and transfer projects in and with China. During the training, they develop strategies for dealing with legal, political, and social challenges, and learn to identify the opportunities that China offers in the field of research and transfer. Participants also learn to implement these strategies for their internal target groups. In addition, the training program provides comprehensive basic knowledge about China.
