BetterTaxi is a mobile application that allows you to order taxis for single and shared trips comfortably and ecologically via smartphone.
The taxi app offers many options to choose the taxi according to your needs. Pre-orders are possible and, after a one-time registration, payment by smartphone is also possible. In addition to the conventional taxi ride, BetterTaxi will also offer taxi sharing. If you want to share your taxi with others, BetterTaxi will look for potential passengers, i.e. people who are driving in a similar direction at the same time. BetterTaxi will match the passengers and calculate the route and price. This makes taxi sharing a simple and practical option, saving passengers money and reducing the impact on the environment.
The most important aspect of BetterTaxi is the ecological aspect: We want to make taxi driving more sustainable. To achieve this, the greenhouse gases produced by every BetterTaxi trip are offset at the driver's own expense. This means that for each trip we pay the amount necessary to offset the CO2 emissions of that taxi ride elsewhere. The amounts are invested in climate projects through our partner, ARKTIK GmbH.
BetterTaxi will initially start the service in Berlin and will then expand to other German and international cities.
