Management of Development Projects

Are you passionate about managing development projects successfully and achieving impact? Do you want to grasp what is meant by project management in line with the philosophies of the different donor organizations? This training course will deal with concepts, processes and instruments for planning, monitoring and evaluating projects in international cooperation.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course participants will have a good knowledge of the principles of project management in development projects. They will have practised its principal mechanisms and be in a position to apply them.

Course Content

  • Basic elements of successful Project Management
  • The importance of group work and participation in Project Management (team-building processes in Project Management)
  • The phases of PCM (Project Cycle Management)
  • Logical Framework Approach and its tools
  • Impact Orientation – Managing for Development Results
  • The principles of Monitoring and Evaluation
  • PM+E in development organizations in Berlin

General information

The training course takes place at the Centre for Rural Development (SLE), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Course hours are from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm from Monday to Friday unless otherwise noted. The tuition fee is 1650,- euros per participant. If you enrol before June 1st 2020, the Early Bird tuition fee applies: 1350.- euros.
